What, when, where
A 3-day workshop in hackathon/sprint mode: concrete work on a prototype implementation of the IKS semantic engine, roughly based on the ideas suggested at http://www.slideshare.net/bdelacretaz/title-the-iks-restful-semantic-engine-lets-get-started and http://dev.day.com/content/ddc/blog/2009/11/iks-pragmatic-view-update.html
The codename for this is IKS FISE.
The goal is to write software with tests and/or demo scenarios that demonstrate a few semantic use cases (at the RESTful interface level) using the semantic engine: auto tagging, link suggestions, etc.
The motivation is to help the IKS industrial partners express how they imagine using such a semantic engine in their products, based on concrete working prototype software.
Code and documentation
See FISEcodeAndDocs, also includes reports of what happened at the hackathon.
Communication channels during the hackathon
- #iks on freenode IRC
- Mailing list TBD
The hackathon will take place in Furtwangen from March 29th to 31st, see travel information below.
We will start at 2PM on the 29th, and end mid-afternoon on the 31st so that people can travel on those days.
Space is limited and most seats are taken by IKS consortium members and a few invited community members - see the internal IKS drupal site for the list of participants.
If you're a member of the IKS community and would like to participate, feel free to contact an IKS representative, and we'll see if we can fit you in.
